The Stylin' Stylus
If there’s one accessory that can help you to get more from a mobile device, it has got to be the stylus. Using a stylus, it’s possible to get much better precision when interacting with your device and you can avoid getting fingerprints all over your screen. Unfortunately, unless you have a Galaxy Note, most tablets and phones don’t come with one built-in. That means if you want to use a stylus, you
have to find someplace to store it on-the-go. This can be a nuisance considering the whole point of a mobile device is to be convenient and easy to transport. Knowing how often these things tend to go missing or are forgotten at home, it’s no wonder I don’t often see many (if anyone) using one in coffee shops.
Introducing Flaxus
Fortunately AEGLO, the Hong Kong-based team behind Flaxus, have come up with a solution. Flaxus is a mobile device stylus that functions as a fashionable slap bracelet. Being made from flexible silicone, it just bends around your wrist and you’re good to go – literally. The idea is to mix style and convenience. So when you want to play your favorite game on your touch mobile device, the precision stylus is on your wrist and soon to be at your fingertips.
Flaxus comes in seven different colors and features a built-in groove to allow air flow and enhance grip. It also bears an attractive pattern which AEGLO hopes will appeal to the trendy hipster and business professional alike. It boasts a ‘double ended’ design too, so that you never get the stylus the wrong way round and to lend it a symmetrical, aesthetic look. All this helps Flaxus to meet the design criteria of ‘FF’ – or Fashion and Function.
So far Flaxus has managed to raise $7,024 of their $10,000 goal with about two weeks to go. Already their product has already received international recognition in being chosen as one of the winners of the “red dot award: product design” for 2013.
