Wonderbund
Wonderbund is one of those great ideas that makes you wonder why no-one else thought of it: the world’s first ‘reversible cummerbund’. The concept comes from friends Rick and Ethan of ‘OddFort’. As seen on the front of all Lyft cars (after creating the ‘car moustache’ or ‘Pink Carstache’), the pair realised that ‘creating fun products that get people to instantly smile is the key to success’. When Ethan’s brother asked if they could help him with a custom purple cummerbund for his wedding, the idea for Wonderbund was born…
‘Creating one that flipped over to be a gold encrusted championship belt seemed obvious. We agreed to make the purple cummerbunds, but only under this condition and he happily agreed’, said Rick.
Obvious indeed…
Everyone at the wedding loved the idea and this told Rick and Ethan that they had to bring it to market. On the one side, the Wonderbund has a traditional and high-quality (100% satin) design, while on the reverse you get your pick of championship belt, lobsters, a moustache or various other novelty looks. It’s ideal for looking smart during your wedding and then being ready to have a laugh and be the life of the party for the reception.
A Smart Idea
With an idea that they were proud of and believed in, the duo took to Kickstarter where they are currently running a campaign to raise funds. So far they have raised $9,788 or 65% in 3 days to reach their target of $15,000.
