The DogTagPillBox

If you take a lot of pills then you’ll know it can be useful to keep a pill box on you for ease and convenience – especially if losing your pills. Wearing this as a pendant makes a lot of sense and means you aren’t likely to lose your medications but unfortunately the options available aren’t currently particularly inspiring and are instead either not very attractive or somewhat flimsy (or both).

Thinking Outside the Box

BrassCollage2

This is something that entrepreneur Michael Magno knows all too well being blind in his left eye and needing medication on him at most times.Michael already wore a dog tag himself and was tired of using ugly and flimsy plastic containers. One day he found himself wishing he could just keep his pills in there and inspiration struck.

‘I thought ‘maybe I will just tape my medicine to the bottom’,’ he remembers,’I was kidding of course but the other holders and necklaces either could not hold enough medication, [were] not my style. So… I went right to work because I knew it was what I wanted, maybe others will as well?’

‘The sketches started, the paperwork filed and here we are. Fully patented, copyrights, trademarks… a great product with so many uses and for any age and any demographic.'

If you are looking for a more seamless and sturdy way to carry your medication then you can already buy some of Michael’s pill boxes from his website. He has turned to Kickstarter however in order to raise the funds for his best design – a DogTagPillBox made from 100% Brass for a sturdy and quality feel.

All DogTagPillBox’s are hand buffed and use three strong magnets to hold the lid shut. The brass models feel weighty and look great but the numbers are limited so head over to the Kickstarter page if you want to get your hands on one. Currently Mike is on $2,556 and has 24 days to make it to $3,000 – and so far he’s had a good experience with the project.

‘The emails I have received from people have been very kind and uplifting… especially those from veterans that love the idea for very personal reasons.’
