Swinplet Wallet: Fastest Slim Wallet

Inside detailsSwinplet is the quite possibly the fastest wallet there is; or at least that’s the vision of Snowball Shuttle, the R&D Workshop from Houston that designed Swinplet to be a wallet that would allow users to pay for things using just one hand. Just ‘swing n’ swipe’.

Unlikely Inspiration

If you head over to the wallet’s Kickstarter page, you will not only be able to learn all about the design and function of this unique wallet, but will also be treated to an amusing video depicting a ‘standoff’ over the bill inspired by the old Spaghetti Western movies. This is no coincidence either, as it was actually one of those very films that originally served as the inspiration for the wallet:

At first, I wanted to make a wallet that can be operated by only one hand. After a long journey, I realized it’s not just about creating the wallet; it’s also about designing the gesture of operating it! So I got the inspiration from the old cowboy movie, when Clint Eastwood retrieved his gun in a fast and fancy rotation move.

There! That’s it! That’s how I want my wallet to be operated! And based on that motion, came the Swinplet. You just swing, swipe, swing back. Like a cowboy in a duel!

Walking Into the Sunset

While the inspiration might have come from Clint Eastwood though, Joshua Mei – the cofounder of Snowball Shuttle – hopes that the product will have a broad appeal.

The logic is, if you can use just one hand, why use two? If you can save your time paying faster with Swinplet, why not?

Pocket detailsSwinplet has so far earned $1,960 of a $2,000 goal. And with 33 days left to go, it seems that this wallet is quick in more ways than one! Already Snowball Shuttle have ideas for Swinplet 2.0 and hope the project will have a bright future ahead. Swinplet is available in a variety of different colours and will be made from high quality materials, so head over to Kickstarter and get involved if you’d like to get your hands on one.
