Solid in Looks, Function and Material

The wallet is something of a staple when it comes to the accessories that we carry around with us every day. It also is one that hasn’t changed much in all the time it’s been around. Lukasz Mlynarczyk, founder of UK based Luxeretti Design Studio, is looking to change that by approaching wallet design in a completely new way.

What is SOLIDO?Solido wallet spring steel plate side view

SOLIDO is a completely novel wallet. It provides a stylish sheath for storing your cash and cards, and is made from a combination of leather and steel. The internal clip is made from a spring steel plate ensuring that it never loses its firm hold on your cards, which Lukasz is dubbing ‘X-Grip Technology’. Whether you have one or eight cards, it’s been designed to securely hold them in place while also allowing them to be easily removed with a swipe of the thumb. The wallet will be produced in a choice of either INOX stainless steel or titanium with a genuine leather finish. In addition, Lukasz has had such positive feedback from women that he’s offering it in an unusually wide array of colors. Considering its sturdy construction, it’s surprisingly small and even able to fit into the coin pocket of jeans.

As well as the choice of colors and material, there’s also the ‘Party Essentials’ model for those who want a smaller SOLIDO to take just the essentials on a night out (think ID, card, money and a small loop for your key). With the extra option of engraving up to 12 characters, you can really get creative and turn the wallet into a one of a kind conversation starter.

The Birth of SOLIDO

Lukasz is currently a student studying interior design and has a passion for creating ‘useful and beautiful things’. SOLIDO actually began life as an assignment project, with inspiration stemming from a wallet lost on a night out.

He started wondering how to prevent this from happening in the future. That’s when he came up with the idea of the Party Essential wallet. He wanted something small, thin and for only essential things that people need when going to places like a night club. He later decided to expand itSolido wallet color variety and created wallet that could hold up to 8 cards and some cash.

After getting good feedback from his fellow students and teachers, Lukasz started market research and designing prototypes until he came up with the current SOLIDO model. Very shortly their website will be up and running at www.luxeretti.com, so you’ll be able to check over there for any updates and to place pre-orders. Right now though, you can only find them over at their Kickstarter campaign, which already has £3,854 in funding. If you think the idea is solid, then head over to Kickstarter page to pledge your support!
