iGuardian - The Home Internet Security System

Itus Networks was founded on an idea – that people should always be safe in the knowledge that their home WiFi connection and everything connected to it is completely safe and secure. This is the objective the team hopes to fulfill with iGuardian, an affordable Internet protection system designed to protect from malware, exploits and all manner of other online threats.

Enter the GuardianiGuardian Prototype

According to Itus, wireless routers for the home are generally built to be cheap and easily mass produced, with security as an afterthought. iGuardian brings business class protection to the commercial market by sitting right at the entrance point where data comes in and out and inspecting every last bit of traffic against the most recent virus and malware updates before it even gets to the computer. It’s a small box that won’t look out of place in your home and that will give you peace of mind while you surf the web.

From IT Guys to Entrepreneurs

The two ‘regular guys’ from Silicon Valley with a ‘geek inside’ mentality who make up Itus Networks have been in the network security industry for a long time. While providing free ‘IT repair’ services for their friends (all techies can relate), they realised that there was a niche in the market for easy and effective business-grade protection.

Current Design‘We loved fixing their computers, setting up their network protection and removing viruses.’ They explain, ‘But the threats kept coming back and they became increasingly worse. In particular, we regularly cleaned up computer viruses and malware from the computers of our parents. In some cases, we would find hundreds of these threats on their harddrives, slowing down the computers, Internet access and just jeopardizing all the data and information they had on these computers.’

iGuardian is their solution to this problem, and with $99,012 of a $125,000 goal, it seems that there’s a real demand for this kind of security.
