A Collapsible Water Bottle Fit for Every Adventure
Hydaway is the water bottle that’s ‘always within reach’. The idea is simple: a water bottle that doesn’t take up much space and can even fit into a small pocket by collapsing down after use. It saves money on disposable bottles and it saves space in your bag; an ideal solution for travelling business men and women, hikers, students, parents, road warriors and everyone else!
From Problem to Product
The product comes from NikiSinglaub who describes himself as a ‘product guy’ who ‘lives for designing, developing, building and launching new products into the world’. As with many of the best products we feture here on the site, the idea for Hydaway came when Niki spotted a need in his own life.
‘Trying to stay hydrated in different countries, climates, and elevations, while spending time both in business meetings and in the mountains inspired this water bottle concept.’ Explains Niki.’I was looking for a durable, stable, fully-functioning water bottle that collapsed enough to fit in my back pocket. I was really surprised I couldn’t find anything like the Hydaway bottle out there.’
The Journey So Far
With nearly 20 years of experience designing and developing consumer products behind him, Niki realized that this was a problem he could find a solution for himself. Thus Hydaway was born, and it wasn’t long before it started getting noticed.
“I had a great experience the other night going through TSA security.” Niki remembers. “The main officer asked what I had in my bag as the profile was new to him. I took out my samples and he loved the design! He showed it around to all the other officers as well.”
Now Hydaway is doing the rounds on Kickstarter to drum up support. The project is in good form with $16,874 raised and nine days to go to reach its target of $40,000.
