Aura Optics - Custom Vision for Action Sports
Aura CEO Shaeffer Warnock is a business student with a passion for designing and commercialising products. He is also an avid skier and was displeased with the lack of customisation available from existing ski goggles. That’s why he decided to do something about it through his company Aura Optics.
The product is a highly customisable goggle with a lot of impressive features and an accessible price point. Optics are one of the most important parts of skiing – preventing you from getting blinded by the sun from above and as it reflects off the snow. Unfortunately, until now there hasn’t been much opportunity to customise those optics in a manner that suit you.
There’s Snow Business…
Aura Optics changes all that and is the only company that offers interchangeable straps and the ability to pop out the lenses with one quick snap. The lenses are also specially treated to prevent fogging and use a two piece vacuum sealed polycarbonate system. The team worked closely with athletes and determined that the googles would work better if that sat higher on the face. The frame is hidden behind the lens, not only giving aura its distinctive and stylish look, but also increasing the FOV. Despite all this, the goggles are cheaper than most of the competition – higher performance, more customisation and a better price point.
